THE PLANNING FRAMEWORK TRAINING COURSE - ADDITIONAL COURSE NEW DATE

****Following the sell out for The Planning Framework Course on Tuesday 7 March 2017 a further course has been arranged***

When:  Tuesday 16 May 2017

Time:    7:00pm – 9:00pm

Registration and a sandwich buffet is included from 6:30pm for a prompt start at 7pm

Where:  The Calcot Centre, Highview, Calcot, Reading RG31 4XD

Session Overview:
This session is designed to give councillors a greater understanding of the planning system and its context within the national agenda, as well as looking at ways in which the planning system has changed and is set to change and develop in the future. Topics include planning at national and local levels, how decisions are reached, making effective representations, development management, enforcement and penalties and appeals.

Who should Come:    Recommended for Councillors on the Planning Committee and Councillors who wish to develop their knowledge in this area.  Also suitable for officers who need to understand the Planning Framework

By the end of The Planning Framework Training Course you will:
  • Understand the national and local planning framework and the implications of Localism
  • Be equipped to look at planning applications, knowing the national/local context and be able to frame local council responses using material considerations
